image HighEdMarketing: @eduwebconf Just over 4,000 subscribers for “Your Higher Education Marketing Newsletter”... some since it started 15 years ago. #eduweb

image HighEdMarketing: @eduwebconf Alas, I suspect we’ll need to invest in each… but don’t ignore mobile web content for an “app only” approach. #eduweb

image HighEdMarketing: @eduwebconf Be sure to track use of mobile devices on analytics to access your site… iPhone way ahead of Android. Watch the trend.

image  eduwebconf: @HighEdMarketing there is a lot to think about, especially given the amount of users who don’t have iPhones. 

image HighEdMarketing: @eduwebconf Yes, access from mobile devices isn’t high yet. under 5% for my clients. So watch the trend mobile spreads. #eduweb

image  eduwebconf: @HighEdMarketing many colleges are turning more efforts to the parents, do you think there is application of this to them as well? #eduweb

image HighEdMarketing: @eduwebconf Not sure re parents: Pew Internet project has demo data that should be a good guide. Suspect parents will “do” mobile #eduweb

image  eduwebconf: @HighEdMarketing great segway into the importance of website content. What trends are you seeing in your research? #eduweb

image HighEdMarketing: @eduwebconf Most common complaint in our user surveys is about nav and search: people can’t find the content they want. #eduweb

image HighEdMarketing: @eduwebconf When people find content page, key question is “does it pass the 5-second rule” to engage them. If note, they bounce. #eduweb

image  eduwebconf: @HighEdMarketing What is the most common problem about writing for the web? #eduweb

image  eduwebconf: @HighEdMarketing is it best to have one person (or voice) or multiple? What are the road blocks to good web writing? #eduweb

image HighEdMarketing: @eduwebconf Best to be as informal as possible; regular meets of web writers; slay the jargon demon; write for “regular folk.” #eduweb
